Hi! I am Zhiheng (James), and I am studying at UCLA as a Computer Science and Engineering major. I am particularly interested in research and machine learning. Currently, I am an undergraduate researcher at the Computational Machine Learning Lab at UCLA, working on Large Language Model compression. Previously, I have also worked on Physical AI, Robotics and Reinforcement Learning, as well as Complex Systems.

Jan 31, 2026 Our paper, GraphAllocBench: A Flexible Benchmark for Preference-Conditioned Multi-Objective Policy Learning, has been published on Arxiv!
Jun 17, 2025 I have started a new role as a Visiting Academic at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies, working on creating a test suite for Preference-Driven Multi-Objective Reinforcement Learning.
Oct 05, 2024 I have joined the Structures-Computer Interaction Lab at UCLA, working on using LLMs to develop a physically-realistic digital twin model of a slinky, with Discrete Elastic Rod simulations and Sawyer robots.
